Greetings Moose fans and welcome to this months Legion newsletter.
A couple of questions I had when I was a new Moose Member were: What is the Moose Legion? Why would I want to get involved? Good questions. It was not until I joined and got involved did some of these questions get answered. I am going to try and answer these questions in an effort to inspire more support for our noble causes. My hope is two fold, get present Moose Legion members active in our meetings and functions and inspire new eligible Moose Members to join us. The benefits I have personally received through my participation in our Legion and Lodge have altered me for the better in so many ways. Any effort or time I have put into our Lodge has been returned to me three fold. In the irreplaceable friendships I have made. These friends have reinforced my desires to help the less fortunate children we are asked to provide for at Mooseheart.
The purpose of the Moose Legion is to band together loyal and devoted members of the Moose who desire to make further contributions to the humanitarian objectives of our Order. It is also affectionately known as the “fun degree” or “playground of the doers of the fraternity”. For instance, we have five dollar all you can eat rib dinners, trips to other Lodges for dinners and celebrations, and you can even have a barley pop at our meetings. In short we try to have fun and promote projects that support Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
Why would I want to get involved? Membership in the Legion will subject Lodge members to many new opportunities in their Lodge. Dances, sporting events, community service, and getting better acquainted with fellow Lodge members and make new friends throughout the fraternity. Our Legion celebrations held throughout the State serve as a means to share ideas and good times with fellow Moose Legionnaires. Please consider some of these benefits and consider helping us have fun and promote our noble causes.
It is called Pride in Service. All with one pledge. To do some good thing for someone each day.
The parameters of this newsletter keep me from going into greater detail. But if you would like to get involved please contact me or any Legion member. Our members love to talk up the virtues of our Enid Moose Legions noble causes.

Try to Attend the Moose Legion Celebration in Stillwater April 16th and 17th. We always have fun and get to see all of you friends for the other Lodges and Chapter. Please make sure you get signed up for the Higher Degree Dinner. If you are not sure if you can be a Higher Degree holder all you need to be is either a Moose Legion Member or higher or for a Lady you need to be a Academy of Friendship Member or higher. If you would like to sigh up please see Ellis Williams it is $5.00 a year.

We had State Darts in Alva on April 13th and 14th. We had a great turn out for it. We had 17 members participating in Mens Doubles, Women Doubles, Men Singles Women Singles and Mixed Doubles. Kenny Wright and Shellie Schulz won the Mixed Doubles nice job. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the wonderful job Alva did.

JT White was our Lodge Sooner Moose Legionnaire
But Paula Haigler was the State of Oklahoma Novice Co-Worker of the Year Way to go Members we are so proud of each of you. Thanks for making our Lodge and Chapter shine.
